Medicare Advantage Plans - Part C
Advantage plans consist of PPO's and HMO's. These are network based Managed Care plans which generally have no monthly premium or deductibles. You will have out of pocket costs such as copays and coinsurance and they norlmally include drug coverage as well as extra benefits not covered by Medicare.
Prescription Drug Plans - Part D
Stand alone Part D Drug Plans are a must for those who decide to purchase a Medicare Supplement Insurance policy. Medigap covers your medical costs but not the cost of prescrition drugs. Part D plans will have a monthly premium, copays / coinsurance and may have a deductible.
Medicare Part A
Covers Hospital Stays. Most people do not have to pay a premium for Part A.
Medicare Part B
Covers Doctor visits as well as outpatient care and treatments. Most people pay a premium for Part B.
